Accessibility statement

What I have checked on this website, what I have not checked yet, and how to tell me about a problem.

My commitment

I want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.

The standard I am working toward

My target for this website is WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the W3C. This is a target, not a claim that the site meets it.

What has been checked

  • Automated checks with axe-core on every page, at desktop and phone widths, with every expandable answer open.
  • An HTML validator, the W3C Nu Html Checker, on every page and on the stylesheet.
  • Scripted keyboard-only checks: the order in which links and fields receive focus, that focus is visible, and that the sticky bar on phones never covers the focused item.
  • Color contrast, measured for every text and color pair the site uses.
  • Reflow and zoom: every page at 320 pixels wide, and at the size a 1280-pixel screen has at 200% zoom, with no sideways scrolling.

These checks were run in October 2026 in a Chromium browser.

What has not been checked yet

  • The site has not been tested with a screen reader. A test with VoiceOver is pending.
  • There has been no independent audit by an outside accessibility specialist.
  • The scripted checks ran in Chromium only. Safari and Firefox have not been checked the same way.

Known limitations

  • The two sample PDFs on the Samples page have gaps. The City of Cameron agenda has no headings. The West Travis County PUA agenda has one heading in five pages.
  • Both sample PDFs passed veraPDF’s automated PDF/UA-1 checks. Passing that check is not a human review, and neither file has been tested with a screen reader.
  • The Before and After pictures of agendas on this site are images of documents. Each has a text alternative that describes it. The words inside the pictures cannot be selected or searched; the remediated sample PDFs carry the text.

Report a barrier

If something on this site does not work for you, email hello@texasaccessibledocuments.com. Say which page you were on and what happened. If the problem is the quote form, I can take your quote request by email instead.
